This past Monday we had a chance to have dinner with our friends Fara and Bob to set up for taking care of their dog, Zelda. In preparation, I decided to try a recipe that I've been anticipating for quite a long time, Challah. Not having the religious background, I'd never had a chance to sample the stuff, but I've heard how good it is for a very long time. I've got to say, I was really pleased with the results, after I made two small changes to the recipe. Firstly, since the recipe as written ended up a bit wet, I changed the flour from 5 cups total to just under 6, and I added about a teaspoon of brown sugar to the final egg wash to add a slightly sweet tinge. It seemed to be very well recieved - if you get a chance, try some!
